Fall/Winter Hockey
Wheaton West is a high school hockey club comprised of players from Wheaton-Warrenville South, Wheaton North, West Chicago, Wheaton Academy, and St. Francis High Schools. Wheaton West Hockey fields teams at both the JV and Varsity levels.
Our high schools are united in one mission - Create a single high school hockey club that focuses on excellence in the classroom, in the community, and on the ice.
Wheaton West is a member of the Illinois West High School Hockey League, as well as the North Suburban League (for JV White players).
Where
Practices are held at our home rink at Center Ice of Dupage in Glen Ellyn, IL.
When
Tryouts are usually in late August. Seasons then start after that and can go until early March.
Games
Games are normally on Friday nights and weekends, but some can be played during the week.
Practices
Each team normally practices 2 times a week.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Players are responsible for their own equipment costs and travel accommodations for any out of town tournaments.
Uniforms
Wheaton West colors are black and silver. All incoming players should have a black helmet and black pants. All new incoming players are required to order the following:

Uniforms must be ordered by August 12th. Any orders received after August 12th will not be delivered until November!

2023-2024
The season fee is $4,350 for skaters and $2,670 for goalies. The season fee includes a non-refundable, pre-registration fee of $500 for pre-season Conditioning Skates and Tryouts. The $500 fee must be paid prior to the start of Conditioning Skates whether or not the player decides to participate in the Conditioning skates. No skater or goalie will be allowed on the ice until this fee is paid. The $500 will be deducted from the season fee when the player registers for the season. The season fee can be paid in full or by payment plan following the online registration process. Registration and payment must be completed prior to the first team practice.
The player fee also includes a REFUNDABLE $150 volunteer deposit. Each season we need volunteers AT ALL LEVELS AND IN A VARIETY OF CAPACITIES for many different events and games. If a family meets THEIR 8 slot volunteer requirement, their $150 will be refunded to them at the end of the season.
The season fee also includes 2 -3 tournament entry fees as well as the cost for the Blackhawk Cup (Illinois High School State Championship), if your team qualifies. All out of town travel and hotel costs are at the family’s expense.
Make sure to note all upcoming conditioning and tryout dates noted here. After completing the online registration (link below), please go to our Resources tab and click on "Registration Documents". These documents will all need to be filled out and uploaded after your player is rostered to a team by Aug 27th. The system will email you reminders to upload your documents and the Club will monitor those player documentation requirements.
